Congratulations to Sabrina Li, Adam Mitchell, and Scott Tan, who were selected as Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Scholars! ARCS Foundation is a national organization dedicated to supporting the best and brightest U.S. graduate and undergraduate scholars by providing financial awards in science, engineering and medical research. Since its founding in 1958, ARCS Foundation has awarded more than $90 million to 9,000+ ARCS Scholars.
Filmmaker and physics and astronomy major Jonah Grubb ’16 created a unique look at life at Pomona in his new video. The images are accompanied by music from another physics and astronomy major, Liam Toney ’17.
Dillon Dong, a senior this year, is one of two students receiving the Downing Scholarship. After graduating from Pomona this spring, he will attend Downing College at the University of Cambridge next year to earn an M.Phil. degree in Astrophysics.

Congratulations to Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and Shuji Nakamura, the 2014 Nobel Prize Winners in Physics. Eric Fraser Po Physics ’05 worked with Dr. Nakamura at UCSB and Dr. Nakamura collaborated with Pomona Faculty supervising Eric’s thesis which can be found here:
